Purgatory to us is the greatest place on earth.  We get to live here, ski and ride here and we get to work here.  Purgatory and the surrounding area has something fun to do every day for every member of the family.  For winter sports we have skiing, riding, sleigh rides, ice climbing, tubing, snowshoeing...we could go on and on.  In the summer, same deal, except then our beautiful snowy playground becomes vibrant green, and Purgatory has everything from races, to the Alpine Slide, to Music in the Mountains.  We love it here, and we know you will as well.

Just the Facts!

- Our Base Elevation is 8,793 feet (2,680 meters)

- The Summit Elevation is 10,822 feet (3,299 meters) (That's over two miles high!)

- Vertical Drop is 2,029 feet (618 meters)

- Skiable Area is 1,325 Acres (536 hectares) (This includes 125 acres of new terrain!)

- Our Annual Snowfall at Purgatory is 260 inches (660 centimeters) (That's over 21 FEET!)

- We can cover 250 acres (21% of the mountain) with our Snowmaking.

- We have 10 Lifts serving 85 runs and can get up to 15,050 people to the top of the mountain per hour.

- Our trail ratings by percentage are:
21% Beginner
46% Intermediate
33% Advanced/Expert

- We have three terrain parks for even more fun:

Pitchfork Terrain Garden
Divine Comedy (the locals call it DC)

Dates and Times

- We open for winter season on TBD if we have cooperation from Mother Nature.  (be sure to join our email club to get the latest info, snow reports, events and more.)

- We close for the season on TDB.

- Our Hours of Operation are from 9AM until 4PM.  Half day starts at 12:30PM. (These are the hours that the lifts are running...they are not the hours for the whole resort.  Check out the other activities going on after the lifts close.  Stick around for a few. The fun doesn't need to end at 4.)
