The 2007-08 winter season will begin with Benefit Day on December 2nd, or earlier as winter arrives in Southwest Colorado.Our snowmaking crews started making snow on November 1st and will continue to lay a base as temperatures allow. Right now the prime temperatures are at night and we have taken full advantage of the last few nights. Our upgraded, energy efficient snowmaking fleet allows us to make the same amount of snow to cover the same area of snow in a faster period of time. We've actually made more snow in the past week, than we did the same time last year with colder temperatures.

We're off to a great start, and ready to celebrate the 15th annual Benefit Day with $15 lift tickets. All proceeds from Benefit Day go to local non-profit organizations, this year's benefactors are Durango Nature Studies and the Durango Winter Sports Foundations. Come kick off the season with discounted lift tickets and great deals on lodging. Regular lift tickets and season pass skiing and snowboarding begin on December 3nd. | |
