UPCOMING EVENTS AT PURGATORY MOUNTAIN
Resort hosts Skibike Festival and Halfpipe competition this week

Durango, CO – Following last weekend’s storm Purgatory Mountain is preparing for an action packed week including the International Skibike Festival and the Expressions Session Series Halfpipe competition.

The 4th annual International Skibike Festival runs tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22nd through Sunday, February 26th. The five-day event will bring together skibikers from around the world for events ranging from Big Air and racing competitions to free lessons and gear demos. Participants need Skibike certification, which can be obtained through Purgatory’s Ski and Snowboard school, based on instructor and equipment availability. Registration for the Skibike Festival will be every morning at the Ski and Snowboard School office in Purgatory Village.

This Saturday, February 25th, the popular Expression Session Series continues with the Halfpipe Competition. The Expression Session Series is a four-week competition series open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages with upcoming events including Big Air and Jib Jam. This weekend’s competition will take place in the newly constructed Halfpipe in the Paradise Freestyle Arena. Registration is Saturday morning beginning at 9 am and competition starts at 10:30 am. Helmets are required for all participants and athletes under 18 need to have a parent present at registration.

March will be a busy month as well with the Dave Spencer Ski Classic March 3-4, Durango Independent Film Festival March 1-5, Moonlight Snowshoe Tour March 11, Demo Days and more. Special spring packages are available including the Slopeside Studio Blowout featuring one night lodging slopeside in Purgatory Village and two lift tickets for only $129 per room.
