SHERIDE SNOWBOARD CAMP RETURNS TO PURGATORY MOUNTAIN
Weekend camp specifically designed for female snowboarders

Durango, CO – Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort will host the 4th annual SheRide Snowboard Camp February 3-5, 2006. This Weekend camp is open to female snowboarders of all abilities ages 18 and up, and provides dedicated teaching by female instructors from Purgatory and beyond.

SheRide Snowboard Camp will introduce beginners to the sport of snowboarding, while helping intermediate and advanced snowboarders excel to the next level. More than just a training session, the camp is aimed at building confidence and mountain skills in a unique and comfortable environment just for women. The weekend camp will include on-hill training, off-slope conditioning and social events, including a Grand Finale Dinner with prizes and an auction to support the Snowboard Outreach Society (SOS). The camp is sponsored by Patagonia, Atmonic, Inferno Snowboard Shop, Nikita, Bubba’s Boards, Never Summer, The Point, American Association of Snowboard Instructors and Purgatory Mountain.

"We want to create a sisterhood of riders who can help each other learn to navigate the mountain while having the time of their lives,” said camp organizer Julie Visnich.

SheRide has three packages available to meet the needs of any female snowboarder. The Full Deal package includes training, lift tickets and lodging for $735, the Locals package includes lift tickets and training (no lodging) for $500 and the Locals Season Pass package includes just training for $424. SheRide is a non-profit organization and all proceeds from the weekend snowboard camp will benefit at-risk teens through the SOS.
