SUMMER FAMILY FESTIVAL AT PURGATORY MOUNTAIN
Event includes Root Beer Festival, Magic Show and more

Durango, CO –  The temperatures are soaring and families all around La Plata County are looking for entertaining ways to cool off. Why not spend a day up in the mountains at Purgatory’s Summer Family Fest, where temperatures are generally 10 degrees cooler than in town. The first  Family Fest will be Saturday, July 12the from 11 am to 2 pm in the new Purgatory Village Plaza.

Guests are invited to see the changes taking place in Purgatory Village and enjoy family fun with a day full of activities. Mysto the Magician will host a magic show at noon, and a Juggler will entertain the crowd at 1:30. From 11 am to 2 pm children, and children at heart, can get balloon animas and face painting. The highlight of the Summer Fmaily Fest is Purgatory’s famous Root Beer Festival, featuring floats, coke bears, ice cream and more. Don’t miss this great sampling of local and national root beer flavors.

Regular Daily Activities will also be open during Summer Family Fest, including the Alpine Slide, Climbing Wall, Miniature Golf, Bungee Trampoline and the new Durango Mining Company. Families are encouraged to bring up their bikes and ride Durango Mountain Resort’s world-class trails, or take a self-guided nature hike on the mountain.
