SAN JUAN BREWFEST ON TAP FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND
Festival rounds up summer at Purgatory

Durango, CO – The summer season comes to a close at Purgatory Mountain this Labor Day Weekend, with the final day for activities on Monday, September 3rd. Before summer is officially gone, gather at Purgatory for a day of beer tasting and live music at the 9th annual San Juan Brewfest on Saturday, September 1. Brewers from around Colorado and the Four Corners regions will pour samples of their craft beers at the Purgatory Main Festival Tent from 2-5 pm.

Admission is $20 and participants must be 21 years old, with proper ID. Presale tickets and bus tickets are available this Friday evening from 4-6 pm at Steamworks Brewing Co. on Second Avenue in Durango. Bus tickets are $5 roundtrip with two departure times available. Bus Ticket 1 departs Steamworks at 12:30 pm and returns to town at 5:15 pm. Bus Ticket 2 departs Steamworks and arrives back in town at 6:45 pm. Limited bus tickets are available.

Tickets will also be on sale on Saturday, September 1st at the Brewfest entrance and at the Durango Mountain Resort ticket office in Purgatory Village. Lodging Packages are available from $59 per person, based on double occupancy and include admission to the Brewfest. To book a lodging package call 259-0082.

New this year, the San Juan Brewfest will feature a children’s tent with live entertainment from the Hounds of Purg and soda from Zuberfizz and Coca Cola.  Live entertainment in the Grand Tasting Tent will feature the Jeff Strahan Band.  Breweries attending this year’s event include Ska, Carvers, Steamworks, Durango Brewing Co., Silverton Brewer, Pagosa Brewery, Boulder Beer, San Luis Valley Brewing, Turtle Mountain Brewing, 3 Rivers Brewing, Bristol Brewing, Oskar Blues and Budweiser Craft.

After the Brewfest, it’s time to begin thinking about winter. Season Passes for the 2007-08 winter season are on sale now, offering big savings over in-season prices and special benefits. New this year season pass holders receive three days of skiing and snowboarding at Monarch Mountain, in addition to free days at Taos, Silverton and Kirkwood Mountain.
