Ground broken on ski-in/ski-out Alpenglow Townhomes
Project coincides with Columbine Area improvements

Durango, CO – Durango Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the new Alpenglow Townhomes, the latest slopeside development on Purgatory Mountain. The resort will team with KW Geary Builders on the ski-in/ski-out project in the lower Columbine Area. The first phase will include sixteen chalet style units in four buildings, featuring three and four bedroom layouts and spectacular views of the Needles.

“We are very excited to be working with KW Geary on this exceptional slopeside opportunity,” said DMR CEO Gary Derck. “The Alpenglow Townhomes and other Columbine improvements mark the beginning of our plans to renovate and improve the resort’s lower base area.”

"The Alpenglow Townhomes are a fantastic opportunity for us as creative builders, and offers a rare chance to live in this beautiful environment,” said Kurt Geary, owner of KW Geary Builders.

The Alpenglow Townhomes will be situated just feet from the resort’s Graduate Lift (7) with easy in-and-out access. Through careful site planning, each townhome will offer spectacular views of the signature 13,000-foot Twilight Peaks in the Needles range. The townhomes will range from 1,700 to 2,500 square feet with two-car garages, lower level patios and upper-level decks. Superior interior finishes and a variety of floor plans will be offered to fit individual needs, with custom upgrades available. The units will start at $599,000.

“Slopeside property is in short supply at mountain resorts, and this project offers a prime ski-in/ski-out location at a very competitive price,” added Derck.

At build-out the Alpenglow Townhomes will total 32 units. Future Columbine Area plans include a new lodge with full skier services, plus facilities for the Adaptive Sports Association and Mercy Urgent Care Medical Clinic, employee housing and improved parking. A right-side skier exit with a shallower grade will also be added to the tunnel under Sheol Street.
