KIDS ADVENTURE CAMP SOLUTION FOR SUMMER BOREDOM

Day Camp introduces kids to outdoors

Durango, CO – School´s out for summer and that means parents in La Plata County are scrambling to find activities and events to keep their children entertained for the next three months. Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort offers the perfect solution with the Kids Summer Adventure Camp. The day camp for children ages 6–12 focuses on teaching children about their surrounding environment, while developing self esteem, teamwork skills and ecological awareness.

Daily camp activities include rock climbing, nature studies, rope course, teamwork exercises and hiking. Other activities include disc golf, miniature golf, the alpine slide, and educational indoor activities during inclement weather. The camp will run weekdays June 12 through August 18. The camp bus departs the Centennial Center in Durango at 8 am with several stops on the way to the mountain. Campers leave the resort by 3:10 pm and head to town. Daily Camp fees are:

  • $35 per day
  • $26 per day for any 5 days
  • $23 per day for any 20 days
  • $20 per day for any 40 days

Camper to counselor ration is kept small (10:1) to encourage participation and individual attention during camp sessions.
