DURANGO MOUNTAIN RESORT ENJOYS RECORD SNOWFALL

Unveils Lift/Lodging Packages From $56 Per Person!

Durango Mountain Resort, CO – As Purgatory welcomes in 2009 we give thanks for the bounty bestowed upon DMR by Mother Nature this past year. After a mild and blue November, our mountain was in the snow zone for a majority of December. Purgatory Mountain received 119 inches of snow; making it the snowiest December on record surpassing the previous record of 109 inches set in December 2007. With nearly 10 feet of new snow, the mountain is covered in a blanket of white. Needless to say, the skiing and snowboarding has been exceptional this holiday season.

This is the second year in a row that a prolonged Indian summer has been followed by a snowy December. The snow started on December 7th and didn’t stop until December 26th. The seemingly endless series of storms stopped just in time for our busy holiday season and we have enjoyed sunny conditions for the past 4 days which has given our holiday skiers some of the best skiing ever at Purgatory.

Snow is expected to return this weekend to reload the slopes with fresh powder. With a huge base and more snow in the forecast, a great January awaits those visiting the resort. Skiers and riders can take advantage of exceptional savings in the month of January including our NEW Buy 2 Get 3 Package. Guests get 3 nights of lodging and 3 days of lift tickets from just $169 per person. That’s just $56 a day providing a savings of $122 over 3 days. This package offers guests a lift ticket and lodging for less than the price of a single day ticket.

Sven Brunso, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for DMR said, “We have the industry’s best packages. Our packages are good the entire month of January without any fine print. There has never been a better chance to experience Purgatory and Durango Mountain Resort. Great snow, a new village and exceptional savings have created the perfect combination for a winter vacation.”
