BEST SNOW IN COLORADO

Durango, CO – A third storm system moved into southwestern Colorado beginning Wednesday with storm warnings continuing through Thursday evening. Over 13 inches of new snow fell at Purgatory Mountain today and the snow is still falling. With this latest snow, the resort has a 48-inch mid-mountain base depth with powder/packed powder conditions.

This is the third blizzard in the first two weeks of the winter season turning Durango Mountain Resort into a winter wonderland.  The resort has received nearly 4 feet of snow this week surpassing the record snowfall the 2007/2008 season.  As the resort has received more snow the Mountain Operations crews have been hard at work readying more terrain. Lift 2 will open on Friday, December 19, and Lift 3 will open on Saturday, December 20. Crews are hoping to have the entire resort open for the holidays.

The snow came just in time for the holidays; with conditions that are unbeatable in Colorado this magical time of year will be even more special for our guests.
