ANOTHER STORM HITS PURGATORY
Durango, CO – Another major storm has dropped an additional 18 inches of snow on Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort. In just three days Purgatory has received over 30 inches and the snow is still falling. Durango Mountain Resort has received nearly three feet of snow in the past week. The Mountain Operations team is working hard track-packing trails and continuing with snowmaking operations. They will continue to open more trails as the snow continues to fall. According to Liz Witte, resort spokeswoman, “we could not be more excited about this weather, and the snow just continues to pile up. The quality of the snow is fantastic!” Adding, “ With our Mountain Operations teams hard at work our guests are going to be greeted each day by fresh tracks, and more and more terrain open. The continued snow in the forecast ensures our guests and families arriving during the holidays will enjoy exceptional conditions. It’s going to be a wonderful winter at Purgatory!”
The recent storms in addition to the snow in the forecast will allow mountain operations to open chair two on Friday and chair three over the weekend. Purgatory aims to have chair 8 open for the holidays.

The National Weather Service is predicting a third storm to follow later this week and the winter weather advisory has predicted heavy snow through Thursday with accumulations ranging from 2-3 feet.
