ALPENGLOW TOWNHOMES SELL OUT DURING SELECTION EVENT
Phase one of new development goes in three and a half hours

Durango, CO – Durango Mountain Resort hosted the most successful single day selection event in the resort’s history on Saturday, as the first phase of Alpenglow Townhomes sold out in just three and a half hours. The 16 units represented $14 million dollars in real estate sales.

“We could not have anticipated a better response,” said Cathy Craig, broker/owner of Durango Mountain Realty. “We have 16 new homeowners who are eager to become a part of Durango Mountain Resort’s family, and we are ecstatic to welcome them.”

Saturday’s selection event was by invitation only, for reservation holders who expressed interest in the Alpenglow properties during the pre-building stage. Forty-three reservation holders were invited in priority order and were allowed 15 minutes to make their final selections. The event, which began at 9 am, finished at 12:30 pm when all 16 units were selected. The townhomes were purchased by homeowners from various states across the country including Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois and Florida.

The Alpenglow Townhomes are 3-4 bedroom units located slopeside in the Columbine Beginner Area. Each unit features 2 car garages, custom details, and decks with views of the legendary Needles range. Phase one of the Alpenglow Townhomes are scheduled for completion in the fall of 2006/07

The townhomes are a part of the resort’s 25 year master plan which will include 5 new villages in addition to Purgatory Village, a new day lodge in the base area and new lodging, retail and restaurant amenities for the resort.

“This kind of sales response affirms that the resort community we are building here has the perfect mix of amenities, lifestyle and residential product in a vacation home destination,” said resort CEO Gary Derck, “and DMR’s investment value in relation to other mountain resorts in the west continues to draw buyers from throughout the country.”
