BIG STORM HITS PURGATORY!

Over 13 inches of powder in 24 hours with more on the way!

A major storm has dropped 13 inches of snow on Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort in the past 24 hours with a storm total of over 15 inches so far in just two days; and the snow is still falling.

The extended forecast is calling for continued snowfall in the San Juan Mountains with a winter storm warning posted for Monday night and Tuesday. A third storm looks to follow later in the week.

Durango Mountain Resort has received nearly two feet of snow in the past week.  The new snow is allowing the Mountain Operations team to open new terrain on the frontside of the mountain each day. They will continue to open more trails as the snow continues to fall.  For the latest on trails conditions and terrain openings please visit durangomountainresort.com.

Sven Brunso, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said Sunday morning, “The timing of this storm couldn’t be better. Locals had a great day yesterday as heavy snow fell during the day making every run better than the last. Our guests are in for another treat today as more of the mountain will be open which will guarantee fresh tracks for everyone. Our weekday pass holders should have an incredible week starting Monday as the new snow will allow us to open even more terrain as the week goes on. This new snow in combination with what is forecast to fall this coming week should assure our holiday customers of exceptional conditions.”
