Mercy Medical Center to sponsor helmet awareness day, with free helmet rentals and giveaways
Durango, CO – Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is pleased to announce the third College Day of the season, this Sunday, Feb. 21. Lift tickets will be sold at the
discounted rate of $29 for students, faculty and staff with a valid college
I.D. A portion of the proceeds will benefit KDUR public radio, and a KDUR
DJ will be spinning tunes on Purgy’s beach.
Also on Sunday, Mercy Medical Center will sponsor a “Helmet Awareness Day,” to encourage helmet usage and raise awareness about the consequences of head injuries. Mercy will be offering free helmet rentals and will be giving away helmets and other prizes in a free raffle to be held throughout the day.
Other upcoming events in Purgatory’s locals’ lineup are: Locals Day, Sunday, March 7, with discounted $39 lift tickets and portions of the proceeds to benefit KSUT and La Plata County Search and Rescue; the Friday Afternoon Club, which features $39 half-day lift tickets and a Meal Deal at Purgy’s or $59 for a half-day ticket, Meal Deal and demo ski/boot package; and the Family Fun Pack of four lift tickets (two adults and two children under 12) for $99 per family, or $139 per family with rentals.
