Adaptive Sports

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is home to one of the most dedicated Adaptive Sports Associations around. ASA is a non-profit organization whose goal is to provide outdoor recreational opportunities in a barrier-free environment regardless of individual or financial limitations. The ASA offers year round sports and recreational opportunities that enhance the well being of people with disabilities. ASA participants take part in activities including skiing, snowboarding, white water rafting, canoeing, sea kayaking, hiking, fishing and more.


ASA students are children and adults and range from those with learning disabilities to involved physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy. Advanced reservations are required for both winter and summer programs. Please call for more information and reservations.
