Village Development
When you visit the resort this season you may notice a few changes. Some buildings you may have seen before are gone, and in their place are new buildings. This is the beginning of a very exciting time at Purgatory Mountain—a part of our 20-year Master Plan that will offer a variety of lifestyle, recreational, and residential opportunities at the base of one of Colorado’s premier alpine resorts. Our plans will make your vacation at Durango Mountain Resort even better.

Village Re-Development
We have thoughtfully and with great care woven in new construction, creating a special space in which to enjoy this slopeside mountain village’s bustling retail, dining, music and more. All the while, we remain sensitive to the natural surrounding beauty. Our new arrival court is now on the same level as the plaza, making it easy to unload gear and kids and head to the new ticket office. The new Purgatory Lodge, our 130,000 square-foot development just steps from the Village Express Chairlift, featuring:
- upgraded skier services
- new retail, rental outlets
- Ski-on/Ski-out lodging
- a redesigned Purgy’s restaurant
- an impressive new day lodge with a state-of-the-art kitchen and dining area
- a full service day spa/salon
- a town square-style amphitheater
- and more
These momentous changes have allowed Purgatory Village to grow into the central gathering place for Purgatory Mountain, including a high-energy pedestrian event plaza, where we hold concerts, summer events, and fun daily activities.
Visit this site often to view updates on our progress and watch as the new face of Purgatory takes shape.
