Appearance Policy

The following appearance standards have been established so that each employee represents Durango Mountain Resort appropriately. If appearance is not maintained to these standards, it may be reflected in performance appraisals and/or could affect continued employment. Each department may have additional, more conservative standards.

Uniforms:

Certain positions require a uniform.  Employees are issued the necessary uniform and must wear it when working (uniforms must not be worn when not working). Uniform shirts must be worn tucked in and uniform jackets must be zipped and/or snapped to at least chest level. Employees are responsible for ensuring that the uniform is clean, neat and in good repair. If an employee’s uniform becomes damaged it should be exchanged at the Employee Service Center in Human Resources. Upon separation, uniforms must be returned.  If the uniform is not returned within 3 days after job end and replacement cost is not collected from final check, it is reported to the local authorities as theft.

Nametags:

Nametags are a required uniform component for all employees during regular business hours. While working, employees must wear a current nametag with their given name on it. A nickname is acceptable if approved by department management. Employees should report to Human Resources immediately for a replacement, if their nametag is damaged or dirty. Employees must not wear a nametag that has been altered in any way (stickers, artwork, etc).
