- Snowdown Winter Festival
This premier winter festival dating back to 1979 brings together the entire Durango community to celebrate winter. The theme changes annually, and there are more than 60 different events, with new activities being added every year. Events include an evening parade, Ski Softball Tournament, Snowdown Balloon Rally, wine tasting, beard growing contest, Snowdown Follies, Bed Race, a fireworks show and more. Pre-slopes Yoga 8-9am at the Durango Mountain Institute. $10 Designed specifically by Rachael Carlevale for skiers and snowboarders before hitting the slopes, this yoga class will build your physical strength and flexibility while practicing relaxation and self control. - Langlauf Race
Saturday, February 4th, The Durango Nordic Ski Club is hosting their annual Langlauf Race. This is a distance skate race of 30km or 15km for adults, with shorter distances for juniors. The race starts at 10am and registration is from 9am at the Nordic Center. The cost of the race is $25 for adults or $15 for juniors. We would like to thank our local sponsors, Pine Needle Mountaineering, Boure Bicycle Clothing, Bread and Nature's Oasis for their generous donations.
