The only major Colorado ski resort that can be accessed by car without driving over a major mountain pass, Purgatory is served by major, all-weather highways from Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.
Directions from Pagosa Springs, Colorado:
Take Highway US-160 west to Durango. Continue north on Camino Del Rio/ US-550. Follow Hwy 550 north until Mile Marker 49 and Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort will be on the west side of the highway.

Every day (and only on days) that Durango Mountain Resort is open for skiing beginning November 23, 2012 and ending March 31, 2013.
Weekends (Friday to Sunday only) in April, subject to resort remaining open.

Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort is located in the southwestern corner of Colorado in the beautiful San Juan Mountains, 25 scenic miles north of the town of Durango on Highway 550.

We ask for a 24-hour advance notice for guaranteed transportation service and require a credit card charge to be processed to secure the reservation. Reservations must be canceled at least twenty-four hours in advance of the scheduled start of the trip to qualify for a refund. New in 2011, American Airlines started a year-round daily, direct flight from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). In addition to American Airlines, there are a number of other flights to Durango (DRO) on major carriers like Frontier Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways from Denver (DIA) and Phoenix (PHX), all which have daily service to Durango.

Rental car services are available for your convenience at the airport by several major companies, including Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National.
Driving directions from Durango-La Plata County Airport:
Exit the airport by heading north on Airport Rd/CR-309. Turn left onto Highway 172, heading north. Turn left (west) onto Highway 160. Continue onto Camino Del Rio/US-550 North. Turn left onto Skier Place, which is the entrance to Durango Mountain Resort.

Adaptive Sports Association: this program offers world-class winter and summer programming for persons with disabilities. Conveniently located near the entrance to the Resort, information on programs and services are available at www.asadurango.com.
Line Privileges: permission to go to the front of the lift line is extended to individuals with disabilities that have difficulty standing for extending periods and those whose adaptive equipment make it difficult to navigate with the maze. This specifically includes skiers with above the knee amputations, (and below the knee if skiing on one ski), physically disabled using the mono-ski, bi-ski or sit ski, four-track skiers with two skis and two outriggers and persons with blindness with a guide. All sit-ski must be equipped with standard evacuation systems (straps, hooks, etc.) and may be inspected at the base of each lift. Upon arrival at the lift, please let the lift operators know the type of assistance you may need for loading and unloading or any other special preferences.
